Rain For The Weekend: Timing & How Much
We will see rain this weekend with most of it coming overnight Saturday night into early Sunday morning. This looks to be another decent rain for some. Many areas will see 1" to 1.50" of rain.
There will be the possibility of some stronger storms with gusty winds the main threat. I can't completely rule out a few severe thunderstorm warnings, but widespread severe weather is not expected at this time.
RAIN SETUP
A large upper level disturbance over the west will be swinging into the Central Plains this weekend.
COLD FRONT COMING
This upper level disturbance will send a cold front into North Texas Saturday night.
As of 4pm Thursday, that front is currently located over Colorado and Utah.
RAIN TIMING
Most of our Saturday will be dry. It will be breezy and more humid, but most of the rain will hold off until the evening and overnight. Rain chances on Sunday will end from west to east, but spotty rain will linger thru much of the day on Sunday.
HOW MUCH RAIN
Here is what one of my forecast models is showing for a rainfall estimate.
A decent rain looks likely.
