Professionals & Private Citizens Continue Search For Zoe Hastings' Killer

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - On Wednesday the search continued in Dallas for the person involved in a high profile murder case. It's been just over a week since Zoe Hastings was found dead in her family's minivan. The vehicle was on a cliff near an east Dallas creek bed.
As members of the Dallas Police Department continue their investigation, several other people, including a private detective, are making their way to Peavy Road to look at a speed limit sign. On Tuesday, Dallas detectives said they had evidence that Hastings' van hit a sign at Peavy and Newcombe Drive. The incident reportedly happened within a half hour of her disappearance.
The Walgreen's store on Garland Road is also attracting a lot of attention. The location is where a witness told police they saw a woman matching Zoe's description. The woman seen was speaking with a man, who at some point got in the driver's seat of a van, while the woman moved to the passenger side.
Wednesday morning police officers were seen talking to people on the street and canvassing the area. Neighbors in east Dallas were also stopping by the store just to look for anything or anyone out of place.
The so far unsolved murder has some people worried. Donna Deen, a mother of three, says she can't stop thinking about it. "Was there a struggle? Was it someone she knew? There are a lot of questions. I don't know. It's just very unsettling not knowing a lot of details."
Dallas police are asking people who live on Peavy Road, near Newcombe, to check their home surveillance cameras. Their hope is that Hastings white-colored minivan was captured on video the evening of October 11.
Investigators are also looking for a woman who they think witnessed the crash.
