FORT WORTH (CBS 11) -  There's still no power for more than 45,00 people in Fort Worth following Thursday's storms.

One of the hardest hit areas is the Fairmount neighborhood, which as of Friday night has about 3,000 people without electricity.

Leah Suasnovar, is one of them. She live off of 6th street in the Fairmount neighborhood and says she is simply trying to make the best of it.

"We're just lucky that our house was not damaged," she said.

Over on Alston road some neighbors got their power back on but others were left sitting in the dark. David Helt who is dealing with a second night of power outage says he is thankful his neighbor from across the street who has power has allowed him to borrow some of it.

He stretched an extension chord across the street just so that he can have some power.

"We're trying to save the food in the refrigerator and the kids fish in the aquarium so our neighbors have been good enough to plug into theirs," said Helt.

The power company Oncor says they are trying to have 95 percent of the outages back on line by Sunday.
