DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - More rain is in the forecast this week, and that doesn't help many North Texas cities as they work to patch their pothole problems.
The annoying, and sometime dangerous, potholes on many roadways in North Texas spiked this spring because of the heavy rains.
Now, even more new ones have been created and ones that already exist have gotten worse.
Fort Worth's street superintendent Allen Hall says his city has been taking proactive measures in the battle against problematic potholes.
"The rain always increases the number of potholes that we have to address" said Hall. "We've activated all of our trucks, going out and filling potholes."
Hall says in Fort Worth they've filled about 1,500 potholes in the last two weeks.
The city of Dallas has filled even more.
Last month's rains forced them to bring back their emergency pothole repair mode because the rain really got in the way of their repairs.
Hall says as rain comes this week, Fort Worth will continue their proactive measures.
