Police Search For Brazen Robber On 24-Hour Crime Spree

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A brazen thief has robbed people at five different locations in less than a day; threatening victims at knifepoint.

"He has no qualms about using force. He already used forced when he stabbed somebody," said Detective Brian Raynsford with the Fort Worth Police Department.

The man has robbed people in the parking lots of big box retailers such as Walmart and Home Depot in broad daylight. He's described as a male in his late 20's, 5'8", 180-190 pounds.

Detectives said his crime spree started at a Walmart Monday afternoon on West Berry St. when he robbed a customer and stole his 2003 Dodge Ram pickup.

The robber then used the victim's truck in his various crimes though out the day.

Fort Worth detectives said the criminal has threatened victims at knifepoint every time. He stabbed one victim in the back of the head without warning outside a Home Depot on White Settlement Road.

Surveillance video shows the wounded victim, limping toward the store in search of help. The knife just barely missed his organs.

Police said the robber also targeted a mother and her two children at a Subway restaurant on Trail Lake Drive. She had just pulled into the parking lot when he approached the driver's side and demanded her wallet. As the woman attempted to comply, police say she accidentally honked her car horn, thwarting the robbery.

"That spooked him, he ran into his truck and fled," said Detective Raynsford

Police fear that the robber won't stop until he's caught.

"There's no indication to think he's done. As long as he's out there -- there's a potential for him to strike," said Detective Raynsford.
