Police Arrest Suspect For Stabbing Murder Of Churchgoer
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas police say they have taken the person responsible for stabbing a Dallas woman to death last week into custody.
Shearl Bennett was murdered as she walked from her car to her condominium, in the 9800 block of Royal Lane. Bennett had just returned home from bible study and choir practice at Pilgrim West Baptist Church. The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on September 21.
Just an hour after Bennett was attacked, Dallas police received a call about a robbery in the 2800 block of Douglas. Particular details of that incident haven't been released, but two men were arrested for the crime.
Further investigation found that evidence at the scene of the aggravated robbery linked one of the suspects, 27-year-old William Langrum, to Bennett's murder.
Langrum was already in custody for the aggravated robbery and on Monday was also charged with capital murder.
