Plano Does Not Re-Test Drinking Water That Contains Bacteria
Plano admits it failed to properly re-test drinking water after a test in June showed bacteria.
The test showed the water contained total coloform bacteria, which isn't harmful, but generally indicates a more dangerous bacteria is in the water supply. Further analysis showed the water wasn't tainted, but the city then failed to properly re-test the water supply. City officials claim no one was ever at risk of getting sick from Plano's tap water. The state has been notified, but this single incident won't lead to a penalty for the city.
