While many analysts and viewers surveyed believe former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina won the early Fox News-Facebook debate, former Texas Governor Rick Perry also received praise for his performance.

Mr. Perry had no gaffes as he did during a debate the last time he ran for President which doomed his first campaign.

The former Governor got his points across about the booming Texas economy, and pledged to secure the southern border if elected.

At one point, Mr. Perry was asked about billionaire Donald Trump who he has butted heads with and who is far ahead of him and number one in the polls.

"I've had my issues with Donald Trump, I talked about Donald Trump for the standpoint of being an individual who is using his celebrity rather than his conservatism. When you look at the celebrity of Donald Trump, I think that says a lot about it. The thing I'd like to remind people is back in 2007, Rudy Guiliani was leading the polls for almost a year, I would suggest a part of that was his celebrity."

As for Trump, he and nine other top tier candidates, including Texas Senator Ted Cruz,  will be debating in prime time.

The big question is will Trump attack his opponents or will they go after him.

SMU debate professor Matthew Wilson says none of the candidates should go on the attack.

"People don't want to get into a shouting match with Donald Trump. The way to win is to actually speak in a positive way about what you would bring to the table as President. What's your unique experience. What's your unique skill set."
