Penguin Chick Takes First Swim At Dallas Zoo
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - With temperatures approaching triple digits, it was a great day for the Dallas Zoo's first penguin chick to take her first dip in the water.
Three-month-old Marina recently shed her downy feathers, which paved the way for her first swimming lesson. She didn't hesitate to jump in the water and immediately started floating! Her parents, Tazo and Tulip, were close by and jumped into the water with her seconds later.
Marina is the first baby for Tazo and Tulip and the tenth member of the penguin flock at the Dallas Zoo. She was hatched on April 15 and weighed a little more than a C battery at that time.
