Odor Punch On Top Of Mind In Area Boxing Gym

FORT WORTH (CBS11) – The punch now seen around the world has one local boxing gym in Fort Worth buzzing.

On Monday the only thing being talked about at Elite Boxing Club in downtown was the Rougned Odor vs. Jose Bautista baseball brawl.

Tony Lopez, a professional boxer and trainer at Elite Boxing Club said of the punch, "It landed so flush it landed so clean you know."

The hit was so perfect he says he was left wondering whether Odor may have missed his calling as a boxer.

"Does he kind of want to step into this world a little bit," wonders Lopez.

Both Odor and Bautista were thrown out of the game and further punishment is expected.

But if Odor were to soon find himself out of work as a baseball player Lopez thinks he may have a future in the ring.

"He is always welcome to come through," says Lopez.  "We'll have a good time and see what he is about."
