ROWLETT (CBSDFW.COM) - Putting Christmas into the hands and ears of those who visit his light display, a Rowlett man is giving folks the controls to his extravagant light display this year.

Using Bluetooth technology, Jonathan Trantham is allowing folks who appear at his home to connect their phones and play whatever holiday music they want from their vehicles.

"I just kind of don't ever stop. I think I'm done, then I buy some more and just keep adding," said Trantham. "My wife understands. I spend a lot of money every year. It's my little thing I do."

Trantham said he thought it would be fun to give folks who visit the chance to enjoy his lights to their favorite song.

"Everybody has something they want to hear," said Trantham.

All folks have to do is open their Bluetooth, connect to the household name and then pick a song.

"I don't think anyone will take advantage of it. It's a good thing. You know come by and play some jingle bells and stuff like that," said Damon Hendrickson, who drove from Rockwall to see the display.

The only rules Trantham has is that he wants the music kept to Christmas tunes and that people are mindful of his neighbors.

"This is something nice I did for my neighbors. This is it. This is their present. Surprise!" said Trantham.

The house is located 6117 Cedar Lane in Rowlett.
