Not All North Texas Lakes Responding Well To Rainfall

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) — After months of struggling with low water levels, boaters and fishermen alike are rejoicing over the recent rainfall at their favorite North Texas lakes.
Folks at Benbrook Lake, however, don't necessarily consider themselves as lucky.
Though lifelong fishermen at the Fort Worth lake are happy for the rushing water at other lakes, they say Benbrook hasn't received enough rainfall to do any decent amount of boating or fishing.
"In a couple of months we imagine the marina will be sitting in mud," says fisherman David Howell. He said it was only a few years ago that the fishing barges were bone dry. "We need all the water we can get, but the old timers like me and a lot of old fishermen get real fired of the lake sunk down."
Wesley Barnes predicts it will be only a month or two before the conditions grow even more dire, "It'll probably last [until] mid-summer and will probably be down to eight foot low again."
Visitors say the lake could use another four to six feet of water, before they can consider themselves in the clear.
