North Texas Police Investigate Death Of 4-Year-Old
CLEBURNE (CBSDFW.COM) - Police are investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy in Cleburne.
Last week the Cleburne Police Department received a call concerning a child that "was not breathing." When officers arrived at the house in the 500 block of Odell Street they found 4-year-old Buddy Cook dead.
Police say after further investigation they found the boy had an ongoing medical condition.
Sherry Pulliam, with Texas Child Protective Services (CPS), said little Buddy wasn't the only child in the house. "We removed seven children out of this home and placed them in foster care," she said.
Officials said there had been no history of CPS issues at the house. The other children range in age from one-year-old to 12 years of age. Concerning those children Pulliam said, "The kids are doing fine, they've all been interviewed, and we are taking very good care of them. They're placed in foster care right now where we know that they are safe."
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office is performing an autopsy and will determine exactly how Buddy died.
There have been no arrests concerning the incident, but police say they continue to investigate.
