Still hot in North Texas with marginal storm risks for Saturday

Friday's high temperature reached 99 degrees, which broke the 11-day triple-digit streak at DFW. The ridge of high pressure over the Four Corners Region, which brought cloud cover to North Texas yesterday, may steer some high clouds and potentially a few storms into the area today.

Not everyone will see a storm; only a few lucky locations may get rain. It has been 37 consecutive days without rain at DFW! The severe weather threat is low, but non-zero. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk for damaging winds associated with any strong storm that pops up today.

If cloud cover and/or a storm move over a certain location, temperatures may not get as hot. However, most of North Texas will stay dry and sunny. An extreme heat warning continues today, with temperatures as high as 108° possible.

On Sunday, another isolated storm will be possible, but most will stay dry. Intense heat is forecast over the next 7 days. Stay hydrated.
