More triple-digit feels-like temps as North Texas starts heading back to school

Monday morning kicked off the school year for some districts, and kids could break out their favorite T-shirts and shorts as North Texas was off to a warm, muggy start.

Temperatures will top out around 100° later this afternoon, with a heat index as high as 104°. If we reach 100°+ today, it will be our 8th straight day at or above 100°, and our 18th day this year. 

We don't see much change in the forecast this week, aside from our winds increasing by midweek. Expect gusts of 25-30 mph, which will increase our fire risk.
