North Texas facing excessive heat warning for Sunday

Sunday morning in North Texas will be off to a clear, warm, and breezy start. Morning temperatures will start in the mid-80s, a record-challenging warm start.

DFW officially hit 109° on Sunday, setting a new daily record. 

The previous record for today was 107°. For some additional context, the last time DFW reached 109° or higher was 110 on September 8, 2023.

The fire danger remains elevated as well. Additionally, there is a low chance of rain, less than 10%, for communities south of I-20.

North Texas will see a record-setting warm start Monday morning. Overnight lows will only dip into the mid-80s.  

As North Texas heads into the next week, brace yourselves for record-challenging temperatures, with excessive heat warnings and elevated to extreme fire danger extending into mid-week.
