North Texas City Sees Sharp Decrease in Gang Shootings
Police in one north Texas city see a sharp drop in gang shootings, and they know why. The number of gang-related shootings is half what it was last summer in Arlington. Tiara Ellis Richard with Arlington PD says the decline is due in large part to 100-thousand dollars the city gave them for targeted enforcement focused on gangs. She says officers worked a total of 460 hours overtime and made 156 arrests. Police want to emphasize efforts to keep young kids out of gangs in the first place.
