Nolan Ryan To Remain CEO Of Rangers

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Today's loss to the Rays is now a moot point. That's because Nolan Ryan will be staying put after all.

Speculation has been swirling around Rangers Ballpark that Ryan wouldn't be staying much longer. That was the rumor mill churning ever since Jon Daniels was promoted to President of Baseball Operations.

After weeks of spring training and the opening week of the baseball season, Ryan, and majority owners Ray Davis and Bob Simpson finally were ready to make an agreement official.

Rangers CEO Nolan Ryan: "After productive discussions the last several weeks with Ray Davis and Bob Simpson about the structure of our organization, together we are moving forward. It's great news for the Texas Rangers franchise, and their fan base. This move severely needed to pan out for everyone involved.

Following an off-season that saw three very popular Rangers exit, (Young, Napoli, and the Angel) the Rangers couldn't afford to lose arguably the biggest icon in the team's history.

Now the team can turn their attention to the rest of the long season, and focus on getting back to the World Series. That is something Ryan and Ownership can definitely agree on.
