No Need to Panic in Austin
(Dallas-105.3 The Fan) One year ago Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns were preparing to face Alabama in the BCS Championship game, now they are a 5-7 team without its Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator/Head Coach in Waiting and Special Teams coach. Wow, what a difference a year makes, or does it.
The Texas Longhorns are not going anywhere anytime soon. Those who are giddy that Texas isn't going to a bowl for the first time in 13 years are really just having a case of "wishful thinking."
The Texas Longhorns are going to be just fine. They have a roster full of highly recruited talent, a Coach who is second to none in the nation and pockets deeper than any other program in America.
Will Muschamp's defection to Florida to become the Head Coach of the Gators is highly overrated. Defensive Coordinators are important, but not the reason teams win Championships as evidence of the Longhorn's 5-7 record with Muschamp!
Mack Brown isn't in panic mode, he has great talent and a number one recruiting class coming to Austin next fall. The class includes 5 star Running Back Malcom Brown as well as a crew of defensive talent that will ensure the 'horns aren't down for long.
The Longhorns will search far and wide for the best OC and DC in college football and with the deep pockets at The 40 acres, you can be assured they will get the pick of the litter and be just as good as they have been for the better part of the last decade.
Those of you reveling in the demise of the Texas program should slow your roll, we are talking about Texas, one of the premier football program on the planet.
