No Mechanical Issues In Fire Engine/Dairy Queen Crash

FARMERSVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - An investigation into how a fire engine slammed into a Dairy Queen on January 20, reveals there were no mechanical issues that may have caused the crash.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. at the Dairy Queen at 201 E. Audie Murphy Parkway involving a Greenville Fire Engine striking the Dairy Queen building.

Representatives for Siddons-Martin, Dairy Queen and the City of Greenville have since met and evaluated the mechanical operation of the fire engine.

According to a news release, the Farmersville Police Department says after reviewing the black box data there is no indication of any specific malfunctions with the fire engine.

Investigators are continuing to follow-up with the driver of the fire engine and are awaiting toxicology results from the Department of Public Safety lab.

No one was seriously hurt during the crash.
