No 100s By July 4th For DFW
We have yet to reach 100 degrees at DFW this year! The hottest temperature so far this year has been 96 degrees. That has happened 4 times this year.
But is it unusual to not reach 100 by July 4th?
Not really. About half the time we fail to reach 100 degrees by July 4th. Out of the 114 years we have data, 55 years have failed to reach 100 by July 4th.
Of those 55 years, the average number of 100 degree days we see after July 4th is 11!
To put that 11 number in perspective, we typically see 18 one-hundred degree days each year.
CONCLUSION:
So the odds are in our favor to see a below average summer in terms of 100 degree days.
