New Executive Director For The Dallas Arts District
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - The Dallas Arts District has named a new executive director.
The four-year-old nonprofit arts group announced Monday that Catherine Cuellar, a public relations professional and former journalist, would take the spot.
She will begin work April 15 as leader of the Dallas Arts District, which serves as an advocate for the venues and organizations in the 68-acre district downtown.
Cuellar currently works at the Dallas-based utility Oncor where she manages public relations, employee communications and social media. She previously worked at news outlets including Dallas-Fort Worth public television station KERA. She has also served as managing editor of PegasusNews.com.
The Dallas Arts District includes high-rise office towers, corporate headquarters, restaurants, churches, residential properties, an arts magnet high school and the neighboring Klyde Warren Park and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.
Cuellar replaces Veletta Forsythe Lill, who stepped down at the end of October. Lill had helped create the organization.
