New Complaints About Same Pool Company

FORT WORTH (CBS11) - "I know that there are people out there like this but I didn't think he'd be one of them," said Karen Stanley.
Karen Stanley and husband Mark Stanley hired Brad Hathcoat of Rockin H Poolcare in February.
"To check things out and we wanted some lights put on the pool," said Stanley.
They paid him him $2,500 total to install several lights and work on the pump.
"He installed one light," said Stanley.
Hathcoat offered a trade when they need a $650 pool pump part.
"He said, give me $450, I'll take the dirt bike and I'll give you three months pool service for free and two main drain covers," said Stanley.
They said they never got those drain covers or the service.
Hathcoat stopped returning their texts and calls.
There was also this red flag when Sarah Scroggins, the Stanley's daughter, was alone with Hathcoat.
Scroggins, a new mother, was there every time Hathcoat worked on the pool.
"He asked me if I had any strong drugs for his back because he couldn't get into the doctor yet."
Scroggins, a registered nurse, refused.
Then the whole family saw our story on Hathcoat and Rockin H Poolcare.
"It was happening verbatim to my parents," said son Kory Stanley.
CBS 11 reported in May that Rhett Schwartzkopf paid Hathcoat $2,600 for work that wasn't done.
The Fort Worth Better Business Bureau put out an alert on Rockin H Poolcare and the on-line cork-board thumbtack removed the company from their site.
Hathcoat agreed on camera to pay Schwartzkopf back.
Two months later--Schwartzkopf hasn't received a payment, call or text from Hathcoat.
"It gives a black mark on the industry," said Casey Gardner of No Worries Pool Care.
Gardner is a member of IPSSA--the Independent Pool and Spa Service Association.
"We have a code of ethics in our organization. We hold ourselves to a higher standard," said Gardner.
Gardner said before hiring a pool care company make sure they have insurance and consider cost.
"We may not be the cheapest but you are going to get a much higher quality job," said Gardner of companies that are members of professional organizations and invest in education.
While a contractors license in not required for pool service providers if they are doing electrical work, like installing lights, a state electricians license is mandatory.
"If there is an electrical failure, it could potentially burn down your home," said Gardner.
Hathcoat does not have a state electrical license but he does have a mug shot.
He was arrested for theft in 2014 in Henderson County.
The Stanley's filed a police report but they don't think they'll ever see their dirt bike or the money.
"Like I said, my husband has to work out of town to support us and it's hard," said Karen Stanley.
Hathcoat has not returned CBS 11's request for comment.
