KENNEDALE (CBSDFW.COM) - While investigators continue to work on what the Arlington Police Department said are several leads in murder case of 27-year-old Ross Shreves, the victim's former high school classmates gathered Tuesday night to remember the student they said always made everyone laugh.

Shreves, who spent the past three years teaching English at Kennedale Junior High School, graduated from Kennedale High School in 2004.

Classmate Ashley Tippic said Shreves was the comedian in school.

"He made high school super enjoyable." she said. "It was never a dull day in a class with Ross."

More than 30 former classmates attended Tuesday's vigil.

Earlier in the evening at Kennedale Junior High School, more than a hundred of Shreves' students gathered for memorial.

Inside the school, staff members recreated Shreves' classroom in the hallway for students.

Many of the students also wrote letters to their murdered teacher.

"I just wrote what kind of person he was and how I'm going to miss him," said Patrick Ortiz.  The 8^th grader said Shreves was his favorite teacher.

Brianne Graves was also in Shreves' 7^th grade English class this year.

She said, "I'm really going to miss him next year.  I wanted to have another chance to have him, but he's in a better place."

Shreves was found early Monday morning shot to death in his car parked outside No Frills Grill and Sports Bar in Arlington.
