ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – A North Texas mother set out to make her 6-year-old daughter's dream come true but instead was left with a nightmare of an experience.

U'Tona Johnson says her daughter Madison wanted to go see the Taylor Swift concert this past weekend at the AT&T stadium in Arlington. It would have been her birthday gift.

Johnson was desperate to find a last minute ticket and turned to a Craigslist ad, and that's when the trouble began.

She met a man at a fast food restaurant parking lot off of Collins Street in Arlington who sold her the tickets moments before the concert began.

She paid him $400 and got 2 tickets and a parking pass.

When she got to AT&T she made the realization.

Johnson said "At the door they told me they were fake…we just sat out in front of the stadium and cried."

She had been taken advantage of, and was out several hundred dollars.

She added, "This is all she wanted for her birthday. So for someone to scam me and her and take that experience from a little girl it just really broke my heart."

Johnson says she hopes to make it up to her daughter in future at another Taylor Swift concert.

Meanwhile, Arlington police say you should never buy electronic tickets from anyone other than a nationally recognized retailer. They say if you do Fall victim of a ticket scam you should report it to authorities immediately.
