Millionaire Lends Colleyville Mansions To Tornado Survivors
COLLEYVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - A north Texas millionaire wants to lend two Colleyville mansions to families displaced by the tornadoes.
North Texas commercial real estate mogul Ron Sturgeon wrote on his facebook page that he is offering both his mansions, one is 10,000 square feet, the other slightly smaller, to four displaced families, rent free, for 3 months. They will also get the use of his two cars.
Jennifer Knittel works for Sturgeon and says they are overwhelmed with responses.
"There has been a lot of people calling with sad stories. A lot of people calling for friends or family who are just concerned for loved ones affected by the tornados."
She said at this point, they are not quite sure how they will choose the four families.
"One thing that we do require is proof that your home was devasted by the tornado."
She says they have had some call in that have not been legitimately affected.
"I've actually been keeping track of whose contacted me first, because I'm not really sure how we are going to weed them out."
