Mild Weekend Before Arctic Cold Front Arrives in DFW with First Freeze Possible
Temperatures this weekend will be mild compared to what we will see by the middle of next week.
We do have mostly cloudy skies with us this Friday evening. A few sprinkles or drizzle will be possible this evening and overnight.
SATURDAY
Cloudy skies to start the day with temperatures starting in the low 50s. South winds will be light and clouds will break apart in the afternoon. Temperatures will top out at 71 degrees.
SUNDAY
Partly sunny. Morning low of 52. High of 73. Southeast winds 5-10 mph
MONDAY (Veteran's Day)
Partly sunny. Morning low of 54. High of 74. South wind 5-10 mph
ARCTIC FRONT ARRIVES TUESDAY
The strong cold front will arrive either Monday night or during the day on Tuesday. Temperatures will be quite cold, and it will be windy behind the front on Tuesday. There is a small chance of seeing some light rain with the front but no big rain is expected.
The cold air is originating in the Arctic Circle.
By the middle of next week, the cold high pressure you see above will be moving into the eastern half of the country.
That will drag the cold front thru North Texas on Tuesday and deliver us some cold temperatures.
FIRST FREEZE OF THE SEASON
High temperatures Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will only be in the upper 40 and 50s. Morning lows will be in the 30s and there is a good chance of the first freeze for most on either Wednesday or Thursday Morning or possibly both morning.
