Meetings Begin To Discuss Texas High-Speed Rail Line

DALLAS (KRLD) -- A series of meetings kick off on Tuesday to address a potential $10 billion high-speed passenger rail line connecting Dallas and Houston.

Officials with Texas Central Railway -- a privately funded, Texas-based business -- say the 200-mile-per-hour electric trains could be on the tracks and running by 2021.

The public is invited to the meetings, the first coming Tuesday at the Dallas Infomart on Stemmons Freeway. It starts at 4:30 p.m. with an open house. The public comment portion starts at 7 p.m.
