Mayor Wants To Combine Five Cities Into One
The mayor of one Parker County city is pushing to combine his city with five others. The Mayor of Willow Park says there is a tsunami of population growth is headed to eastern Parker County. That's why Ken Hawkins is holding town hall meetings urging a half dozen cities join to become one. Hawkins sees an economy of scale in combining the cities. But then comes the question comes, what will the combined city be called? Hawkins says it should be Aledo. He admits there may be challenges from people who want to hang on to their own identify. The cities involved would be Aledo, Willow Park, Hudson Oaks, Anneta, and Anetta North and South.
