Mayor Asks Families To Pre-Register For Back To School Fair
DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS) - Summer has just begun, but Mayor Mike Rawlings is already gearing up for the next school year.
He held a kick off conference for the annual "Mayor's Back To School Fair" held at Fair Park, where students receive school supplies and other necessities.
This year, the mayor is encouraging families to pre-register to avoid long lines and not receiving supplies. Click here to pre-register.
"So many of our families can't afford these basic needs. That's why they come to fair park. That's why they stand in line at 4 oclock in the morning to get in and make this happen," said Mayor Rawlings.
This year, the event will take place on August 1, at Fair Park.
More than 35-hundred people are expected to attend.
