Mavs/Lakers Preview "Light": A Reason for Hope
know you're Mavericks underoos are ALL in a wad. And that hangover following losses to the less-than-20-win Grizzles, Pistons, Raptors (should I go on?) is still throbbing.
BUT, consider this: the Mavericks are good against good teams. They have quality wins over good teams. That includes two wins each over the division leading Heat as well as the co-division-leading Thunder and Jazz. Dallas can also claim wins over the Spurs, Magic, Hawks and Celtics.
I might be wearing Maverick-blue-colored glasses but I expect Dallas to respond Wednesday night against the Lakers. Dallas needs to do what they CAN do better: get out, run more (are you listening Mr. Marion?), create more offensive opportunities. I think if their offense gets back into its rhythm, their halfcourt defense will be better.
The Mavericks match up decently against the Lakers. Dirk Nowitzki makes things difficult for Pau Gasol, which in turn can make things tough for Andrew Bynum inside. If Tyson Chandler, who is returning from a two game absence, feels better and produces, I like the Mavericks.
The Mavs and Lakers split four games last season. LA has won three of the last four in Dallas but the Lakers are also playing their third game in four nights.
Tonight's game is on TXA21 at 8pm. Caron Butler joins us live on Mavericks Game Night at 7:30.
