Mansfield Tot Still in Coma; Mom Arrested
A Mansfield mother has been arrested because of injuries to her toddler who turned up at an Arlington hospital this month. Ryka Hopper's live-in boyfriend was arrested earlier and charged with aggravated assault and with causing serious injuries to a child. Hopper is accused of causing injury to a child by omission which usually refers to a care-giver who is aware of abuse but does nothing to stop it. Hopper's two-year-old daughter is still in a coma. She was already unconscious and had brain injuries when Hopper brought her to the hospital.
