OAK LAWN (CBS11) - At Hunky's Old Fashioned Hamburgers in Oak Lawn, owner Rick Barton is still in disbelief.

Thieves smashed his window and stole a bag of cash Friday morning, after he believes they followed him from his bank.

"It's a little violating, obviously. You think you're safe like two blocks from your business," he said.

Barton had gone to Chase Bank on Wycliff to make a deposit and walked out with a bag of "change."

He then stopped at Kroger on Cedar Springs, where police told him a surveillance camera caught the thieves pulling up next to his car and breaking in.

"I saw glass everywhere," he said.

Barton said, officers suspect the men followed him from the bank, waiting to see where he'd go next.

"It's a little scary," he said.

Police quickly put out a description of the suspect vehicle and within an hour, spotted it at a gas station right across the street.

"And they found some of the money on the back of the car," said Barton.

Barton said they made the arrest, as he watched on.

"I tip my hat to the Dallas police. That's pretty amazing," said Barton.
