Man In Wheelchair Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle; Suspect Arrested

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas police said a man in an electric wheelchair died late Friday night after being struck by a vehicle at 1300 East Redbird Lane.

According to police, the vehicle, driven by 43-year-old Terrence Hoskins, was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran a stop sign at East Redbird Lane and Singing Hills Drive.

54-year-old Steven Sims was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when he was struck.

Hoskins was taken into custody by police and has been charged with manslaughter on a $100,000 bond.
