Man Found In Golf Course Pond Dies
PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - Neighbors who live near the Watters Creek Golf Course in Plano heard a man screaming for help early Sunday morning. He was in a pond right off the seventh hole green at about 1 a.m. One neighbor who lives along the course tried to coax the man back to shore, but he refused.
"The individual before he had gone under had said something to the homeowners that might have indicated that there was another individual in the water or in the general area so our crews and police crews did search the area," said Capt. Peggy Harrell, Plano Fire Dept.
By the time Plano Fire-Rescue crews arrived, police officers had pulled the man from the water and were already performing CPR on him.
He was taken to Medical City Plano where he was later pronounced dead.
The Wylie dive team was called in and searched the pond; confirming no one else was in it.
Officials haven't released the identity yet of the man who drowned.
