DALLAS (CBSDFW) - Dallas police arrested a man who they say attempted to lure young girls into his vehicle.
According to authorities, Paul McDonnold, 70, tried to lure two 11-year-old girls into his vehicle as they were walking home from school in the 2200 block of Gross Road.
The incident occurred near George W. Truett Elementary school and one parent says she would never allow her child to walk home alone.
"No! Never. I bring my kid to school every morning and pick them up in the evening and I'm always here early."
This mother says violence in the area has been getting worse.
"I see too much violence. I see too much gun violence and break-ins and robberies and home invasions. We have to work together to protect our children."
McDonnold was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon. He is charged with two counts of Attempt Unlwaful Restraint and is being held on a $2,500.00 bond for each charge.
If you have any additional information about the suspect please contact Detective Woods-Romero at (214) 671-4213.
