VICTORIA (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a man who was illegally in Houston has pleaded guilty to engaging in a conspiracy transport people in the U.S. illegally, resulting in deaths and kidnapping.

Prosecutors say  Noe Aranda-Soto, 36, of Mexico pleaded guilty Tuesday to kidnapping resulting in death, use of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence resulting in death and conspiracy to transport people illegally in the U.S. for financial gain resulting in death.

He faces a mandatory term of life in prison when he's sentenced in September.

Aranda-Soto admitted running a smuggling and hostage-taking organization.

Authorities say he led the group when a 2010 auto accident resulted in two deaths. In 2012, his employee died after he shot her and she was run over by multiple vehicles.
