Longhorns Basketball Player Walker Suspended
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- University of Texas basketball coach Rick Barnes says Martez Walker has been suspended from the team indefinitely after the sophomore was charged with misdemeanor assault.
Barnes said in a statement Friday that Walker is cooperating with campus police as they investigate an incident that left another person injured.
No other information on the incident was immediately available but in his statement Barnes said ``any behavior in which women are not treated with respect will not be tolerated.''
The 6-foot-4 Walker, who attended high school in Detroit, cannot participate in any team functions as the investigation continues.
