Lone Star Park Ownership Request Off TRC Agenda
DALLAS (AP) - A group seeking to operate Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie had the agenda item deleted from a Texas Racing Commission meeting.
A North Texas newspaper reported Wednesday that no reason was given by Global Gaming Solutions on it asked the issue to be removed from Tuesday's agenda.
The subsidiary of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma in October 2009 received bankruptcy court approval to buy Magna Entertainment Corp.'s horse track. Chickasaw unit Global Gaming LSP LLC submitted a winning bid of $47.8 million.
Global Gaming spokeswoman Kym Koch says the application will be resubmitted later. She did not provide a timetable.
Transfer of the operating and racing license, for Lone Star Park, which has seen declining wagering and attendance, requires commission approval.
