DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - DISD says a group of 9-year-old students at William B. Miller Elementary School went into a restroom and one of them pulled out a loaded handgun.
Two of the students told their teacher.
When the teacher went into the restroom, the gun had been thrown out the window according to DISD spokesperson Andre Riley.
Dallas ISD Police recovered the weapon but they didn't arrest anyone because they don't yet know who brought the gun to school.
Police and DISD are still investigating.
The school says it will send a letter home with students.
