Litter Bag Contest Ushers In 25 Years Of 'Don't Mess With Texas' Campaign
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Texas is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Don't Mess With Texas campaign with a litter bag contest.
The Texas Department of Transportation wants Texas residents to go online and vote for one of 10 specially designed litter bags. The contest is meant as a way to encourage people to pickup roadside garbage, and to continue the fight to prevent litter in the first place.
One bag design features an armadillo, another a rattlesnake and, yes, there's even one with a bluebonnet.
Voting runs through July 6th, with a winner announced on July 12th. The winning design will appear on 200,000 bags to be given out by the state.
