Life Sentence For Fort Worth Girl's Killer

FORT WORTH (AP) - A North Texas man who testified he never meant to hurt his fiancee's 2-year-old daughter has been sentenced to life in prison for the girl's death.

Jurors in Fort Worth took about 30 minutes Tuesday to decide the penalty for 32-year-old Samson Loynachan.

The Fort Worth man was convicted Friday of murder in the death of Chloe Robinson. She died last August of a head injury.

Prosecutors say the child got sick at day care. Her mother, who was on the first day of a new job, asked Loynachan to pick up the girl.

Daycare workers told investigators that Loynachan appeared annoyed while retrieving the tot. Authorities say Loynachan, less than an hour later, carried the girl to a neighbor's home and said the child was unresponsive and call 911.
