Latest on Andrea, and Here Comes the Heat!

After making landfall yesterday on Florida's Gulf Coast as a strong Tropical Storm, Post-Tropical Storm Andrea has made its way along the atlantic seaboard, and as of 4pm, the center of circulation was located 55 mi ENE of Raleigh, NC.

Andrea will continue its march to the northeast up the Atlantic seaboard towards New York and Boston by Saturday morning. It is expected to move offshore somewhere around Newfoundland, sometime Sunday afternoon. Andrea is not expected to cause any major issues across the Northeast, however  winds to 40mph and heavy rain could put a damper on a few travel plans.

Thanks to the recent rainfall, a few of our lake levels have improved, however we are still below normal, with some places being exceptionally below normal. Here's a look at your local lake levels.

As we look in the upper levels of the atmosphere to find our next storm system, what looks to be one of our last chances of rain for a while arrives Sunday afternoon as an upper level trough located off the coast of Washington state moves through the plains sates.

Unfortunately, for DFW proper, the chances will be slim and mainly in our Red River counties.

After Sunday, our rainfall prospects disappear as an upper level ridge over the Pacific Ocean moves over North Texas which will make us heat up and dry out as we enter the work week.

Under the upper level ridge, temperatures will soar into the upper 90s and should even propel us over the century mark in the latter part of the week. Here is a look at your 7 day forecast.
