Largest One Day Tornado Outbreak in North Texas

UPDATED:  Jennifer Dunn with the National Weather Service has done some more research and found another day that had more tornadoes than Dec. 29th, 2006.  That day was April 26th, 1994.  People in Gainesville will remember that day as the F-2 Tornado struck your town.  In all there were 25 Tornadoes on that day April 26th, 1994.  Just the day before this tornado outbreak the huge F-4 Tornado hit Lancaster in Dallas County.  I am trying to find a map of the tracks from the 26th.  If I find it I will put it on the blog.

PREVIOUS ENTRY:
I have been talking with Jennifer Dunn at the National Weather Service about North Texas Tornado Facts.  She has been very helpful in helping dig up some numbers for me.  I have gotten several questions as to the most tornadoes to ever occurr in one day.  So far she and I have come up with the December 29th, 2006, tornado outbreak.  On that day there were 22 tornadoes in North Texas.  If this is not the largest number in one day I will update this post.  But for now this is what Jennifer and I have found as the most in one day for North Texas.  Here is a map of where all 22 of those tornadoes touched down.
