Lane Closures Along Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Drivers traveling in and out of downtown Dallas could face detours this week, because inspectors are taking a really close look at the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. The iconic bridge opened to traffic in March of last year.
Crews will be inspecting the signature arch, designed by famed architect Santiago Calatrava. They will be working over the course of three days, high above the vehicles passing below. And that means that some lanes of traffic on the bridge will be closed.
The inspections -- and the closures -- are taking place from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Drivers should expect various lanes to be closed throughout the three days, during these very busy hours.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, every bridge across the state is supposed to be inspected every two years. This will be the first inspection for the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.
