Keith To Headline Rodeo Event At Cowboys Stadium

IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones held court today at Valley Ranch to announce that singer/songwriter Toby Keith has been added to the Dickies Iron Cowboy Invitational Rodeo event at Cowboys Stadium on February 19,2011.

Keith will sing before the Professional Bull Riders event which features the top 24 riders in the country competing for $200,000, the largest one-day regular-season payout ever.  The winner will get $50,000 and the chance to score an additional $100,000 if he can ride one of the top contenders for World Champion Bull.

Jones was joined at the press conference by bull riding great Tye Murray and his wife and Grammy Award winning artist, Jewel.  Murray announced the format of the event and Jerry seized the opportunity to have some fun with Jewel, who hails from Alaska.   Said Jewel, "I make Sarah Palin look like a Barbie,"  (regarding Palin's recent Caribou hunt controversy).  Jerry chimed in, "Can you imagine someone as good looking as Jewel coming up on some animal in the wild?"

Keith was not in attendance but was featured on a video.  He and the Cowboys have had a long-standing relationship with Ford, which is sponsoring Keith's portion of the event.   There will also be a Fan Zone outside the stadium which will also feature a variety of family friendly activities and musical performances.
