Jones Reaffirms His Position As General Manager
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - On the final installment of the Jerry Jones Show on 105.3 The Fan, Jerry wrapped up the 2011 Cowboys season, gave some hints about possible coaching staff changes, touched on Sam Hurd and most importantly - the owner/general manager stated his decision to keep himself in the GM position despite the calls from critics and disappointed fans for him to step aside.
"Coaches will say don't let anybody get between you and the owner" because one the biggest sources of angst, according to Jones, comes between a coach and a general manager. "They (the coach and the GM) are not always on the same page - it's why you have a lot of general managers come and go, just as you do coaches...our system doesn't have that".

Could changes likely be coming soon on the Cowboys' coaching staff?
"We'll give you better answers on that as we go over the next three weeks," said Jerry, indicating that hires would be made the week of the Jan. 28 Senior Bowl. "That's pretty much the way I'll leave it."
