Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Presents Live and Let Die: The Music of Paul McCartney
January 20 – 22, 2012

Beatles fans rejoice. Paul McCartney's most popular songs are given the symphonic orchestration treatment to give audiences one of the most memorable concert experiences in the new year. Conductor Martin Herman leads the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra while vocalist Tony Kishman brings McCartney's well-loved tunes such as "Live and Let Die," "Silly Love Songs" and classic Fab Four songs.


Mark Manders: Parallel Occurences/Documented Assignments
January 15 – April 15, 2012

Celebrated Dutch artist Mark Manders' sculptures and works on paper are on view at the Dallas Museum of Art in his first major North American exhibition tour. Look out for a new body of sculpture and Manders' monumental "Self portrait as a building," a constantly expanding project that the artist has been working on since 1986, and has come to define his  overall practice.


Giant
January 18 – February 19, 2012

This larger-than-life musical based on the novel by Eden Ferber is reported to be the Dallas Theater Center's biggest production ever. A co-production with the Public Theater in New York, the musical brings to life the classic story of power, ambition and love against the backdrop of sprawling early 20th century Texas. Giant is directed by three-time Tony nominee Michael Greif with a score by Michael John LaChiusa, and a book by Sybille Pearson.

Qiu Anxiong: Animated Narratives
Through February 5, 2012

On view for another month, art lovers still have time to experience Shanghai artist Qiu Anxiong's unique paintings and video art at the Crow Collection of Asian Art. Catch a glimpse of Qiu's stop-motion animation techniques, which make use of images from his paintings. The result is nothing short of remarkable—stunning images that range from stories of myth to the face of an urbanizing society.

11th Annual Barefoot Brigade Dance Festival
January 27 – 28, 2012

The Bath House Cultural Center will host dancers from Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth and the Barefoot Brigade for the annual showcase of modern dance, the Barefoot Brigade Dance Festival. Dance fans, get ready to be fully entertained by some of North Texas' most talented dancers in the intimate setting of the Bath House.
