Isaac May Bring Rain and Gusty Winds to Parts of North Texas

Isaac was downgraded to a Tropical Storm today but it continues to bring heavy rain and wind to parts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.  Flooding is becoming a huge concern as many areas have picked up 10" of rain with another 12 hours of rain still likely to come.

Isaac is moving slowly to the NW at 6 mph according to the 4pm update from the National Hurricane Center.  Winds are still estimated to be 70 mph.

Here is a look at the movement of Isaac over the past 24 hours.  It has moved just 150 miles in 24 hours.  That is about 6.25 mph.  (A house mouse can run 8 mph... I looked it up.)

The track of Isaac looks like it will impact our weather in North Texas.   Below is a look at the computer models.

Several models take this into NE Texas Thursday evening into Friday morning.  If this were to occur we would see gusty winds and rain chances for areas along the I-35E corridor to the east.

So with that said here is a look at our rain chances for Thursday thru Friday.  I place the expected wind gusts here in Dallas/ Fort Worth on the maps.  This is not going to be a big wind for us, but you will notice a much breezier day Thursday into Friday.  Winds will be a little higher in East Texas with gusts possibly up to 40 to 45 mph from Paris to Mineola to Texarkana.

HISTORY OF ISAAC...
