ROWLETT (CBSDFW.COM) - After the death of a Rowlett infant, the family wants to honor their son through a legacy of giving and helping children in the hospital during the holidays.

Whitney Zapotocky said that she and her husband Adam, found out that their baby was not developing kidneys during a routine ultrasound in 2014. Doctors informed them without kidneys no amniotic fluid is present, and without the fluid his lungs wouldn't fully develop. The fatal diagnosis is called Potter Syndrome, one of several serious or fatal kidney abnormalities.

Tyler Ray Zapotocky was born on November 5, 2014 and spent 32 precious moments on this earth, in his mother's arms.

"It was pretty special," said his mother, Whitney. "He spent his whole life knowing he was loved."

After Tyler passed away the family decided that they wanted to help others to honor their son. Thus, they created Tyler's Toyz and are asking people to donate stuffed animals, which they will then donate to Children's Medical Center in Dallas on December 23.

"We really want that one child, with or without family, to feel thought of, feel supported and feel loved," said Adam.

Stuffed animals can be sent to the Zapotocky Family, P.O. Box 1319, Rowlett, TX 75030.
